Jason Younkman is a filmmaker and photographer based in Columbus, Ohio. Drawing upon observational documentary, personal archives, and experimental techniques, he often explores memory, mortality, absence, and states of consciousness through quasi-autobiographical works that drift between recollection and speculation. His films have screened internationally at festivals including Chicago Underground Film Festival, Athens International Film + Video Fest, and Moviate Underground Film Festival.
Alongside his independent work, Jason produces photo and video content for nonprofit organizations and community events throughout Central Ohio. His documentary approach emphasizes interpersonal connection, atmosphere, and candid moments that reveal how people inhabit a specific time and place.
